November 18, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Synheart, a Canadian startup focused on emotion-aware AI, has launched SWIP, an on-device AI system designed to measure the impact of digital experiences on users’ emotional well-being in real time.
SWIP utilizes physiological signals such as heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) to interpret a user’s emotional state, processing all data securely on the device. This approach ensures user privacy while allowing applications to respond to emotional changes quickly.
Israel Goytom, Synheart’s Co-founder and CTO, explained that SWIP helps developers create technology that aligns with users’ emotions, enabling apps to sense when a user is overwhelmed, focused, or relaxed and adjust accordingly. The goal is to provide a more empathetic digital experience.
Synheart is committed to transparency and ethical AI and built SWIP using publicly available physiological datasets that link HR and HRV patterns to emotional states. The company has open-sourced its trained models and datasets, encouraging developers, researchers, and institutions to contribute to the technology’s advancement.
The open-source SWIP SDK allows developers to integrate emotion-awareness into their applications. Examples include productivity platforms that detect fatigue, games that adapt difficulty based on focus, and meditation apps that sense restlessness in real-time.
Synheart also introduced Synheart Wear, a unified API that simplifies access to biosignals across various wearable devices. This API, combined with SWIP, enables developers to build emotion-aware features without needing to manage device compatibility.
To further expand support, Synheart has launched the Synheart Connectors Program, which invites developers to add integrations for new wearables and earn incentives.
The company is exploring predictive emotional modeling to allow devices to anticipate user needs. SWIP is a step toward creating emotionally aligned computing, where applications can help users feel better by knowing when to engage and when to step back.
Synheart’s mission is to make emotional intelligence a natural part of human–technology interaction, built ethically, privately, and intelligently.
