Sunshine Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ:SBFM) Receives Canadian Approval for Generic Dienogest Tablets for Endometriosis Treatment

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — August 4, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Sunshine Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ:SBFM), a pharmaceutical company specializing in generic and specialty prescription medications, has announced the approval of its generic Dienogest tablets of 2mg for the Canadian market. Dienogest is the generic equivalent of the brand name medication Visanne® and is indicated for the treatment of endometriosis-associated pelvic pain.

Dienogest functions through progesterone receptor binding, local anti-inflammatory effects, and mild hormone suppression, working to reduce endometriosis pain by shrinking abnormal tissue growth. This approval marks a strategic expansion for Sunshine Biopharma into the women’s health sector, offering a first-line therapy for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis.

The global market for Dienogest is substantial and shows significant growth potential. According to Dataintelo, the market was valued at $2.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $5.2 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.8%. Furthermore, the Canadian pharmaceutical market, accounting for approximately 2.1% of the global market, ranks as the sixth largest worldwide, according to IQVIA Pharmafocus 2028.

Sunshine Biopharma has developed a strong distribution network throughout Canada via its wholly owned subsidiary, Nora Pharma Inc. The company anticipates that its Dienogest tablets will be available for shipment to pharmacies by the end of 2026.

“We are pleased to introduce Dienogest oral tablets as the newest addition to our expanding portfolio of high-quality generic medicines,” stated Dr. Steve Slilaty, CEO of Sunshine Biopharma. “With Dienogest widely used for the management of pelvic pain associated with endometriosis, this approval strengthens our position in the women’s health market and underscores our commitment to delivering reliable therapies that meet critical patient needs.”
Sunshine Biopharma currently markets 60 generic prescription drugs in Canada and plans to launch approximately 12 additional drugs in the latter half of 2026. The company is also engaged in a proprietary drug development program focusing on K1.1 mRNA for liver cancer and a PLpro protease inhibitor for SARS Coronavirus infections.
