November 18, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Rockwell Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: RMTI) has appointed Joe Dawson to its board of directors, while Andrea Heslin Smiley has resigned.
Robert S. Radie, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Rockwell Medical, expressed pleasure in welcoming Dawson, citing his extensive operational experience, network in renal care, and expertise in building commercial organizations. Radie also thanked Smiley for her five years of service to the company.
Dawson’s career includes negotiating customer contracts, acquiring companies, and driving growth. His knowledge of FDA-regulated markets, global supply chains, and commercialization for medical devices is expected to benefit Rockwell Medical as it aims to increase market share, optimize manufacturing, and pursue business development, the company said.
Dawson has over 25 years of experience in renal care and cardiovascular markets. He most recently served as President, North America Division at Nipro Medical Corporation, overseeing U.S. operations and compliance in dialysis, vascular access, and infusion technologies. He previously held positions at Cordis Corporation, specializing in cardiology and endovascular devices, and began his career at W. L. Gore & Associates.
Dawson holds a B.S. in Neurobiology from St. John’s University.
