Columbus, Ohio — September 10, 2025 — Leads & Copy — JobsOhio, in partnership with the Ohio Life Sciences Association (OLS) and One Columbus, has announced a biomanufacturing workforce initiative. The program aims to train Ohioans for operator and technician roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing and related biotechnology careers.
According to Ohio Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, Ohio is seizing the moment to lead in biomanufacturing by building a highly skilled workforce. JobsOhio plans to invest up to $30 million over five years to build a new state-of-the-art training center in central Ohio, featuring labs, simulated clean rooms, and a classroom.
OLS will oversee operations and collaborate with Ohio higher education institutions to deliver curricula, with the goal of creating a “hub and spoke” program via a network of community colleges and technical schools throughout Ohio.
OLS President and CEO Eddie Pauline noted that Ohio is transforming itself into a premier hub for the life sciences industry.
The biomanufacturing workforce initiative joins JobsOhio’s comprehensive talent portfolio, which includes the JobsOhio Relocation Incentive, FindYourOhio.com, Talent Acquisition Services, Workforce Grant, and the Ohio Discovery Corridor.
