The program aims to enhance the system’s performance by supporting increased blood flow rates, expanded operating pressure ranges, and improved compatibility with advanced extracorporeal therapies, laying the groundwork for future applications beyond its current ultrafiltration function.
This strategic move is designed to expand the company’s long-term addressable market from fluid overload to encompass additional critical care applications, including blood purification, immunomodulation, and extracorporeal life support. The expanded platform is anticipated to foster collaborations with developers of blood purification and other extracorporeal therapies, leveraging Nuwellis’ expertise in precise fluid management to support integrated critical care solutions.
