Liberation Bioindustries Announces Leadership Role Changes

RICHMOND, Ind. — January 15, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Liberation Bioindustries has announced changes in leadership roles as it nears completion of its first precision fermentation plant in Richmond, Indiana, in 2026.

Co-founder Mark Warner, previously Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is now Chief Technology Officer, while Etan Bendheim, formerly Chief Business Officer, has assumed the CEO position. The company says this shift aligns each leader’s expertise and focus as it advances the development of further sites in the U.S. and globally.

Warner said the transition allows him to focus on designing and building facilities that can operate at commercial scale, dedicating his energy to the Richmond plant and laying the technical foundation for future projects.

Liberation Bioindustries is in the late stages of constructing a commercial-scale, precision fermentation biomanufacturing facility with a capacity of 600,000 liters and a dedicated downstream process (DSP). The plant will produce bio-based materials, including ingredients for food, chemicals, and other industrial products.

Bendheim said the formalization of the structure puts the company in the best position moving forward. He added that the changes allow the company to stay focused on execution while building around the existing platform. The company reports that over 50 percent of the Richmond plant’s capacity is under contract or in late stages of agreements. It has announced it will produce commercial scale volumes of Vivitein™ BLG, a dairy protein for Dutch ingredients startup Vivici.

Liberation Bioindustries has also announced a strategic partnership with Topian, NEOM’s food company, to design and develop an advanced precision fermentation facility in Saudi Arabia, with planning underway.

Liberation Bioindustries is focused on commercializing precision fermentation with a global network of manufacturing facilities to produce bio-based consumer products at scale. The Richmond, Indiana facility is expected to begin production in 2026, and planning is underway for a second plant in Saudi Arabia.
