ANN ARBOR, Mich. — August 26, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) has announced its two new rearing centers, located in a leading Asian silk-producing region, have fully replaced its original Prodigy Textiles pilot facility as the center of production. Since the first center opened in early 2024, Kraig Labs has produced more recombinant spider silk than in all previous years combined.
The modern rearing centers offer an optimized production environment, advanced biotechnology, and the region’s sericulture expertise. Kraig Labs has begun transferring equipment from its pilot facility to the new commercial production centers, expected to be completed by the end of August. The facilities will be operated by Prodigy Silk, a wholly owned subsidiary, while the Prodigy Textile brand will remain active as a DBA of Kraig Labs.
Jon Rice, COO of Kraig Labs, stated that the move represents a major milestone, achieving a key expansion objective for 2025 by operating in a leading silk production location and creating a strong platform to deliver recombinant spider silk to global markets.
The establishment of these centers is the culmination of nearly a decade of planning, marking a significant step in the company’s mission to commercialize spider silk.
