Joseph Mills, CEO, said Bender was instrumental in advancing the company’s modular direct lithium extraction (DLE) platform from concept to commercial readiness. Bender will lead IBAT’s engineering and tech initiatives, advancing its modular direct lithium extraction (MDLE) technology, optimizing system performance, scaling production, and supporting global deployment plans.
Bender has over 24 years of experience in engineering and process systems development. IBAT’s DLE technology is based on proprietary lithium extraction media in patented extraction columns housed in modular, transportable platforms commissioned into production quickly. The company focuses on extracting lithium chloride from groundwater salt brine and produced water deposits, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
