HLS Therapeutics Inc. (TSX: HLS) Secures Broad Reimbursement for NILEMDO™ in Canada, Including Major Private Payers and Positive Public Recommendation

TORONTO, Ontario — August 5, 2026 — Leads & Copy — HLS Therapeutics Inc. (TSX: HLS), a pharmaceutical company specializing in psychiatric and cardiovascular treatments, has announced significant progress in securing reimbursement for its drug NILEMDO™ (bempedoic acid) in Canada. The company has achieved coverage with the largest private payers, estimated to represent approximately 80% of privately insured Canadians, ensuring broad access to the medication for a substantial portion of the population. Most beneficiaries will now be able to access NILEMDO as a full benefit without restrictions, with several agreements already in effect and others to be implemented in the third quarter of 2026.

In parallel, Canada’s Drug Agency (CDA-AMC) has issued its final recommendation for NILEMDO. An expert committee within the CDA-AMC voted unanimously in favor of recommending NILEMDO for reimbursement by public drug plans. This unanimous recommendation paves the way for HLS to initiate negotiations with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) for product listing agreements. HLS plans to commence these negotiations later this year, with the aim of securing initial provincial listings in the first half of 2027.

Craig Millian, Chief Executive Officer at HLS, expressed satisfaction with these developments, stating, “We are pleased with our progress on securing market access for NILEMDO. For the many Canadians who are not reaching their LDL cholesterol targets on statins, whether due to intolerance or inadequate response, NILEMDO provides physicians and patients with a much-needed oral treatment option. Broad private coverage without restrictions, together with a clear pathway toward public reimbursement, means more Canadian patients will be able to access this medicine to help manage their cardiovascular risk.”

NILEMDO is indicated for the reduction of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults who are unable to achieve target LDL-C levels with existing therapies or who experience statin intolerance. HLS holds the exclusive rights to NILEMDO and NEXLIZET® (bempedoic acid and ezetimibe combination) for the Canadian market, which were in-licensed from Esperion Therapeutics, Inc.

HLS Therapeutics Inc., established in 2015, is a pharmaceutical company focused on acquiring and commercializing late-stage development, commercial stage promoted, and established branded pharmaceutical products in North American markets. The company’s therapeutic areas of focus include psychiatric disorders and cardiovascular disease. The management team comprises experienced pharmaceutical executives with a proven history of success in these fields and in managing products throughout their lifecycle.
