Enveric Biosciences (NASDAQ: ENVB) Announces New Preclinical Data Supporting Non-Hallucinogenic Profile of Lead Candidate EB-003

August 5, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Enveric Biosciences (NASDAQ: ENVB) announced new preclinical data supporting the non-hallucinogenic profile of its lead candidate, EB-003. The data, gathered through a sensitive GloSensor™ cAMP assay, aligns with recent research that distinguishes hallucinogenic from non-hallucinogenic compounds based on 5-HT2A receptor-mediated Gi activation.

The study involved testing EB-003 alongside known hallucinogenic and non-hallucinogenic reference compounds. Promega’s GloSensor™ cAMP assay, a live-cell test designed to detect subtle Gi-coupled receptor responses in real time, was utilized. This methodology is described in peer-reviewed scientific literature.

Results from Enveric’s evaluation placed EB-003 consistently within the non-hallucinogenic range. These findings complement previously reported BRET assay results, reinforcing the company’s strategy for developing non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogenic therapeutics. This cumulative preclinical evidence supports the advancement of EB-003 towards a first-in-human clinical trial.

“These new findings further support our previous studies regarding the differentiated design of EB-003 and its non-hallucinogenic profile,” said Joseph Tucker, Ph.D., CEO of Enveric Biosciences. “The consistency of the data across multiple independent assay platforms provides important validation of our approach as we prepare to advance EB-003 into Phase 1 clinical development. As the FDA continues to define the regulatory framework for psychedelic-inspired therapies, we believe compounds designed to preserve the therapeutic potential of neuroplasticity without requiring a hallucinogenic experience could offer meaningful advantages in clinical development while supporting broader patient access and potential commercial adoption.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued final guidance for the development of hallucinogenic psychedelic therapies, detailing clinical, operational, and regulatory considerations such as functional unblinding, patient monitoring, psychotherapy requirements, and trial design. Enveric believes that if EB-003’s non-hallucinogenic profile is confirmed in human studies, it could potentially avoid or mitigate many of these complexities. This could enable more conventional blinded clinical trials, a simpler outpatient treatment paradigm, and broader commercial scalability.

Enveric Biosciences is a biotechnology company dedicated to developing small-molecule neuroplastogenic therapeutics for psychiatric and neurological disorders. The company’s drug discovery platform and protected chemical structures are used to advance compounds designed to promote neuroplasticity without hallucinogenic effects. EB-003, Enveric’s lead candidate, is designed to selectively engage both 5-HT2A and 5-HT1B receptors, aiming to deliver fast-acting, durable antidepressant and anxiolytic effects with outpatient convenience.
