Dogwood Therapeutics Announces Enrollment of First 50 Patients in Phase 2b CINP Trial

ATLANTA, August 7, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Dogwood Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWTX) announced it has enrolled the first 50 patients in its ongoing Phase 2b Chemotherapy-Induced Neuropathic Pain (CINP) trial. The company remains on track to execute its planned interim analysis on approximately 100 patients who will have completed the four-week trial during Q4 2025.

The interim data readout for the Halneuron® CINP Phase 2b study remains on track for Q4 2025. A low discontinuation rate (6%) due to adverse events suggests Halneuron® and placebo treatment have been generally well tolerated among the first 35 patients completing the trial.

Greg Duncan, CEO of Dogwood Therapeutics, noted the increasing interest in Nav 1.7 and Nav 1.8 sodium channel inhibition as alternatives for pain treatment. Michael Gendreau, MD, PhD, CMO of Dogwood Therapeutics, stated that positive data from prior Halneuron® cancer pain and CINP clinical trials underpins patient and research community interest in participating in this study, with the goal to deliver full results in mid-2026.

The HALT-CINP trial (NCT06848348) is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of Halneuron® vs. placebo in cancer patients with established neuropathy. Participants receive daily subcutaneous doses of Halneuron® or placebo over 14 days, followed for 28 days. The study’s primary endpoints will assess overall safety and the change from baseline in weekly average daily pain intensity over four weeks. Secondary measures will assess Halneuron’s® treatment effect on sleep, fatigue, and overall patient health.

Halneuron®, Dogwood’s lead product candidate, is in Phase 2b development as a non-opioid NaV 1.7 inhibitor to treat pain conditions, including neuropathic pain associated with chemotherapy. It has received fast-track designation from the FDA for CINP treatment.

Dogwood Therapeutics is focused on developing new medicines to treat pain and fatigue-related disorders. Their pipeline includes a non-opioid analgesic program centered on Halneuron® and an antiviral program with IMC-1 and IMC-2.
