Cheelcare Inc. (TSXV: CHER), a Canadian assistive mobility device company, has received a “Compliant” rating from Health Canada following a regulatory inspection.
The inspection, which took place between October 22 and November 3, 2025, occurred at Cheelcare’s new 16,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and R&D facility in Markham. The compliant rating indicates that Cheelcare demonstrated compliance with the Food and Drugs Act and the Medical Devices Regulations at the time of the inspection.
According to Dmitry Paltsev, Co-Founder of Cheelcare, the rating validates the company’s investment in quality systems as it scales manufacturing. He added that the inspection confirms the company’s operations are built on a solid regulatory foundation, which is essential as Cheelcare increases the production of Companion and launches the Curio robotic wheelchair into full commercial availability. Strengthening the quality framework remains a key focus as the company progresses toward ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications.
Cheelcare has updated several internal processes, including standard operating procedures and record retention practices, based on observations in the final inspection report. The enhancements align with Health Canada’s guidance and support the company’s commitment to delivering safe, effective, and high-quality mobility solutions.
With its expanded facility, Cheelcare is prepared to support increased demand, accelerate R&D efforts, and further scale production capacity for existing and upcoming product lines.
