The company’s approach involves disguising cancer cells to resemble foreign pathogens, such as the measles virus, to stimulate the immune system to attack them. CancerVax recently reported successful in-vitro lab experiments demonstrating the feasibility of this approach.
Dr. Ringold, currently CEO of Quadriga BioSciences and Founder/Executive Chairman of Maxymune, expressed his enthusiasm for CancerVax’s innovative strategy and Smart mRNA technology. He looks forward to contributing to the company’s mission in the cancer immunotherapy space.
CancerVax Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. George Katibah, noted that Dr. Ringold’s experience will provide valuable oversight to their work.
Dr. Ringold’s career includes leadership roles at Maxygen, SurroMed, Alexza, and Alavita. He also managed the development of novel technologies at Affymax Research Institute. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, and was a faculty member at Stanford University School of Medicine.
